  What is the RC&D?

Sioux Rivers RC&D is not an agency, but rather a program guided entity that is directed by local volunteers and local government officials in the five county area.  Sioux Rivers RC&D is incorporated as a non-profit corporation under Chapter 504a of the Iowa Code and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Sioux Rivers RC&D, Inc. has no membership dues or fees and receives no local tax support. The RC&D Program receives staff assistance through the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. (*USDA IS an equal opportunity provider and employer.)

The purpose of Sioux Rivers RC&D, Inc. is to provide the local leadership and framework required for developing and carrying out a comprehensive plan of action for the conservation and development of the natural and human resources in west Iowa. Sioux Rivers RC&D is a non-profit organization serving counties and Soil & Water Conservation Districts of Plymouth, Cherokee, Ida, Woodbury and Monona.

Individuals, groups or communities that would like to request assistance from Sioux Rivers RC&D should call, e-mail or stop in the RC&D office. We would be glad to listen to your ideas and, if possible, provide assistance. We also have board members from each of the five counties that may also be contacted. The board members are listed for each county on the Council/Staff page.
