2008 Residential Tree Program

Many of our past customers have asked if we are having the Plant Some Shade Program this year.  We are offering the program again this year and hope to have the Applications to order trees available by September 1st.  It is later than anticipated due to a delay in the bidding process with the local nurseries.  Distribution of the trees will be held on September 25th from 4:30 to 6:30. 

We anticipate the trees will be $25 each again this year.  Unfortunately, we are unable to process debit and credit card payments.  Applicants must be an Iowa resident and a MidAmerican Energy customer.  Initially, each household may purchase up to two trees and if all trees are not sold by September 25th, they will be open for additional purchase.  The species of trees offered will be decided by the DNR, which will include a couple shade trees, an evergreen, and an ornamental tree or possibily another type of shade tree suited for the area. 

Plant Some Shade is a partnership initiative to aid long-term energy and natural resource conservation in Iowa.  Locally, it is sponsored by the Iowa DNR, Mid American Energy and Sioux Rivers RC&D.

Please check back with us close to September 1st for more information and an application for the tree program by phoning us at (712)943-7882, leave your name and address very clearly and we will mail or email you an application/order form.  If you would like to sign up to be on our email list, just send us an email at info@siouxriversrcd.org.  We will also be posting an online application/order form to print and mail back to us as soon as they are available, which will likely be September 1st.  Applications/order forms must be post-marked by Monday, September 22nd, so that we will have time to process the order and payment before the September 25th distribution date.
