Gramm Wetland Educational Area Project Hwy 175, Onawa, Iowa
In February 2004, Royce Gramm and family donated 211 acres of land to Sioux Rivers RC&D that they had enrolled in the Wetland Reserve Easement Program. Sioux Rivers RC&D, Inc. is not a government agency, but rather a non-profit corporation which owns the 211 acres privately. Plans are in progress

2007 Plant Some Shade Project

Ida County Veterans Memorial Plaza
Sioux Rivers RC&D served as fiscal sponsors for the American Legion Post 61 to apply for grant money from the Ida County Betterment Foundation to be used for a Living Monument Memorial Plaza to recognize honorably discharged Ida county veterans of all branches of service and all wars, past, present and future.

Ida County Agricultural Society
The Ida County Agricultural Society requested Sioux Rivers RC&D to serve as fiscal sponsors to apply for grant money to be used to update the electrical situation at the fairgrounds, which was not wired according to code.

Monona County Environmental Education Days
On May 1st and 2nd the Monona County Conservation Board, Monona County Soil and Water Conservation District, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resource Conservation Service and Sioux Rivers RC&D teamed up to teach Monona County fifth graders about our environment.

Family Fun Night
Monona County Extension on behalf of the Franklin Go Getters, Blencoe Pioneers and the Bobcapts 4-H Clubs in Monona County planned a community wide pool party held on August 9, 2006. This event was free to children and their parents/guardians. This event gave the kids an opportunity to see each other in the summer and for the families to connect.

Midstates Community and Economic Development Conference Planning
The annual conference is designed to bring together community and business leaders, volunteers, professional developers, and elected officials from the three-state area to share their experiences and learn new ideas for commuity and rural economic development. Women, Land and Legacy in Ida County
Women, Land and Legacy helps agricultural women come together to converse, listen, and become empowered to act on their landscape and in their community. Iowa agricultural women are given the opportunity to inform agencies and organizations of their needs and what specific outreach strategies would serve them best. The goal of Women, Land and Legacy is to incorporate this concept across the state of Iowa.

Winter's Farms Energy Efficiency Grant
Sioux Rivers RC&D put together a grant application to replace an inefficient grain drying bin for Gilbert and Patricia Winters from LeMars, Iowa. The current grain drying bin is outdated and will be replaced with a CMC Pressure Cure Grain Drying Bin by installing platform as the foundation for the pressure cure drying system, using powerful air pumps to force air into the space between the floor and the platform.
