Project Development
All communities have people that come up with great ideas to make their lives a little bit better economically and socially. Many times, these ideas don't get the fair chance they need to bring a benefit to the people simply because the volunteers aren't familiar with how to organize themselves or the project. The RC&D can meet with the leaders of the project and help outline the series of steps that need to be taken in order for them to develop their concept into an actual benefit on the ground for the residents. This could include setting up an organizational structure or even helping them to create a formal and legal corporate entity to carry out the project if needed. The RC&D will provide the structural and informational support to help the energy of the local people become successful.

Business Development
The RC&D can help people walk through a detailed business planning process to help them evaluate a business concept and also determine areas of their idea that may need bolstering to give the business a better chance to succeed or expand. In some cases we can also find grant or low interest financial resources to assist in the support of your business concept. We can help with small private individual business development or community wide efforts such as setting up or expanding a Farmer's Markets.

Grant writing assistance
There is money available to local nonprofit organizations to do good things in their communities. We are available to assist with writing a grant for an organization or another entity. In most cases, we will work with the people involved to help them understand the basics of grant writing and enable them to independently apply for other small local grants in the future on their own.

Fiscal Sponsorship
Most grant money is only available to non-profit organizations that have obtained the specific 501(c)3 designation with the Internal Revenue Service. If your organization does not have this specific designation to be able to apply for those funds, you may be able to partner with the RC&D and apply through us to receive those grant funds. The RC&D is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization and if your project fits into the overall directions and purpose of the RC&D mission, we can partner with you to bring those funds to yor local project.

Grant Administration
Sioux Rivers RC&D can administer your organization's grant for a small fee. This may enable small organizations that depend entirely on volunteers and are without any staff to track the funds in a clear and accountable way. We will set up an accounting system to track your funds and provide any required reports to the funding entity that you may be required to provide back to them.

Payrolling and other accounting services
For a small fee, we can provide the accounting assistance for small businesses or organizations that are not equipped or feel comfortable processing the paperwork and other required reporting aspects of having an employee on their staff.
